They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.) They have co-authored two New York Times and USA Today bestselling series, the urban fantasy of Kate Daniels and the romantic urban fantasy of The Edge and are working on the next volumes for both.

They live in Texas with their two children and many dogs and cats.

So I admit…this is my first Ilona Andrews book. Don't judge. Some things I didn't realize going into this: 1) The author is actually a husband/wife team. How awesome is that? I'm trying to picture my husband and myself sitting down to write a book together and….well, let's just say it's not going to happen. 2) I need to get busy reading the rest of Ilona Andrews' books!

Burn for Me is the first book in the Hidden Legacy series, and in my opinion, it is a great start to what appears to be a very promising series. Andrews' characters are very likable or relatable, which is a must in my mind. For me, it's the characters that make the book. Nevada is a fantastic female lead. She doesn't take crap from anyone, can take care of herself, and is loyal to her friends and family. And Rogan…*swoon*. That's all there is to say about him. I love their back and forth exchanges, and the chemistry between the two is off the chart.

In addition to the wonderful characterization, the world building in this story was excellent. Andrews created a unique, detail oriented world for her characters. The magic element is interesting, the way it developed and was cultivated over time until present day.

Overall, this is an engaging story full of magic, mystery, romance, and fun banter that you won't want to miss. I am looking forward to reading more about these characters and from this author.

One Less Warlock by Judith Post My rating: 4 of 5 stars I think it's hard in a short story to create a unique setting, characters, etc., and still get some sort of story line in. In One Less Warlock, Judith did an excellent job of molding the story in such a way that we got a taste of a distinct world and character personalities, and a complete story to go with it. In this short story Judith was able to pack in witches, vampires, a sexy Were, succubus, voodoo, murder, and mystery, all in only about 20 pages. Pretty amazing.
